Kai is an award-winning designer, art director, creative director and photographer. With over two decades of brand-building experience for agencies and clients in Canada, Europe and the United States, he has played a lead creative role on many of the world’s most famous brands. Prior to moving home to Waterloo and launching Camp-5, Kai ran his own successful agency in Vancouver for 6 years.

 

Kai’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. Accolades for his work include a Campaign of the Year in China honour, as well as recognition in the Art Directors Show, Clio Awards, Lotus Awards, New York Festivals, Marketing Awards, Creativity U.K., Communication Arts, Archive magazine, LogoLounge and Applied Arts magazine. Kai's photography has appeared in ION, National Geographic Traveller, and Gripped Magazine.

Brian is an award-winning creative director, writer and brand strategist. His career began at Ogilvy & Mather Canada, where he was quickly elevated to the position of senior writer on major accounts such as Duracell, Mattel, British Tourism and American Express. In 2004, Brian left to form his own agency, Smith Roberts Creative Communications. In 2014, Brian founded Camp-5 with Kai.

 

Brian has won over 150 advertising awards and was included in Strategy Magazine’s ranking of the Top 10 Canadian copywriters. Several of his campaigns – most notably, his ground-breaking work for Colleges Ontario, Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario and the United Church of Canada – have attracted widespread media and social media attention, while garnering millions of dollars in free exposure from all of Canada’s national newspapers and broadcasters, MacLean’s Magazine, CNN, the BBC, The New York Times and more. Several of his campaigns have since become case studies in Canadian marketing textbooks.
